    My 2 cents

The never expanding black hole normally seen by applicants and candidates to published job openings is, and has been, growing swallowing everything in its path. This doesn’t seem entirely a new generational communication path, but seems to describe the need for multiple contact attempts – phone, email, tweet/chat and finally a text asking for a response…. from younger workers and even family members.

I have a friend who is an ongoing highly regarded candidate for a company going into its 4th month…..foolish (for the employer). My research seems to indicate it’s the result of information and social communication overload and somewhat the inability to separate the personal from work requirements. It is also seems to be the product of years or decades of staff cutting, leaving fewer and fewer people to actually do the work.
